Use Eternal sound Plugin. There is a special fix for ToD, that also works with ToD2 and ToP.

Following this topic is their a way of stopping the lag of the screen while at efreet gorge ect? the wave effects really slow my laptop down.

Ah, that's framebuffer access. Basicaly you can switch the way it does it (wither GPU or CPU) according to the settings on my site.
