ok i have it working and everything but my gamepad Doesnt work. I heard you need xpadder to do it so i tried it and its really weird. i also heard that theres a plugin where you can use your gamepad without xpadder or anything. if that is true can someone link me to the plugin ? if not can someone give me there xpadder profile so i can use it with nulldc? btw im using vista with a logitech dual action pad.

Then why are you using Xpadder when Logitech got their own software just for that...

NullDC 1.00 beta 1.6 has support for gamepad you need to select in the plugins config at maple nulldc/joystick plugin.
You only need Xpadder when you use nullDC 1.0.3 which doesnt have gamepad support.
And it continues....

I would recommend maybe a sticky about this controller stuff. If its not going to get resolved soon and we have the latest release out there for everyone to download and we have this whole sub forum on Emuforums, why not clear this up properly?!! No one downloads this and expects such an advanced emulator to not have simple gamepad support. It's not in the readme either...there's no lines in there that say "Oh BTW, you can only use a keyboard for this emu currently!". That's pretty big. You've see this come up every single day virtually, let's be proactive and have a sticky like: "Gamepads in NullDC 1.0.3" in which you can go over how the input plugin was deleted prior to this release and you have to use Xpadder until this gets fixed. :thumb:
Even if you sticky something like that, it'll still be asked.

Probably true, but not as much. :p
Stickying a topic is an excellent way to hide it. If I had to make sure a lot of people reads a topic, I'd give it a title like "YOU ARE ALL ****", whatever the contents of the topic may be.
Well, I don't really care that much about all this, all's I was saying is that it's not crystal clear to users given the constant threading. And given the severity of this problem, you would just think that it is well conveyed to the user and I just don't think it is.

I read through that part in the readme and that's kinda my point, it is not clear really that gamepads cannot be used. This is a very huge thing, I can't remember the last emu I used that doesn't have gampad support. That should be called out clearly. Sorry everyone doesn't read through that whole section about input plugins and uses process of elimiation to deduce that gamepads are not supported seeing as how they're not listed there. Gamepads are ALWAYS, ALWAYS supported. If not, again there should be no way the player is not heavily informed. Even Makaron, which has no UI has a fully functional input plugin with rumble.

Even that part in the config screen can be seen as ambigious as it's referred to "Joysticks" and a program called "Joy2key" - whereas some people might be like "Well, I have a gamepad/controller not a "joystick". Only a person who doesn't use controllers would refer to it as a joystick - Raz!!

I can see both sides, I'm really just playing devil's advacate for the noobs - I've obviously known since release day - though it did take me a while to figure it out, as the emu HAD support for gamepads, so why all of a sudden would it be gone?? Again, there's just a lot of weird things here that lend to all the confusion here. True, using their head they can figure this out, but it is understandable how this could be a little confusing...cause again what descent emu these days doesn't have gamepad support, really??

Considering this topic is about 1.0.0 BETA 1.6 which has gamepad support then your post is completely out of place here...

"And it continues", continues what? People not being able to select correct plugin from the list?

Just the discussion as a whole and confusion about what is available and what's not. He said he did hear there WAS a gamepad plugin out there and asked if we knew about this...

personally i think nulldc is more than decent with or without gamepad support, and it really doesnt matter that much as xpadder will be sufficient for most needs.

the way u put it (=quote) it looks like u dont consider a emu without gamepad support to be decent. is it so? dont u think nulldc is decent, really??

Of course I do, that's why this bothers me...because NullDC is the best "overall" DC emulator out there and it is used for 99% games...but that's why I want so bad for this pad support; to have the best emu and use my controller properly... ...those really should be one in the same though! Some day...
What a bunch of suck ass *****y fanboys. Of course nulldc is a good emulator, legend is just pointing out that the readme is not sufficiently clear about the latest version not supporting gamepads and it would be pretty helpful if this subforum dedicated to answering questions about the emulator could provide a sticky or simply a faq about this.
