I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to increase my FPS on Pcsx2? I can only get around 34FPS during FMV's and it stays right at about 44 during regular game play.

Yeah overclock cpu arround/over 3 Ghz depending on the games if your motherboard supports it, but for that make sure your cooling is good enough, there are various threads here about the same thing use the search function (also you can google to learn more about overclocking).
quad/dual core =/= single core with all the frequencies summed up (simply put, quad core 2.4 =/= single core 9.6). Also PCSX2 only uses 2 cores (make sure you have MTGS enable). Have you toked a look at the guide ? PCSX2.net - Guide Also you could try the latest GSDX plugin.
Yeah I followed the guide looked on youtube etc. Ive just read on other sites how people have gotten games like FFX and X-2 to work at between 95% and 100% FPS all the time, just no one explains how. My comp is pretty high grade so PS2 games should be easy for it to handle.
I overclocked my e8400 to 3.27 Ghz and have a radeon 4850 and my movies/FMV's run 59-60 FPS, only slows down so far when i use basch's 3rd quickening. Gameplay is perfect. So yeah overclock and you should get full speed since you have a better graphics card than me.
FF2000, check this thread for some discussion on PCSX2's needs. It should at least give you an idea of the basics to understand that it's not all about more cores. It starts about halfway through the first page.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
