Hello everyone. This is a collection of useful emulation documents that I have typed up over time, to assist others in understanding more about N64 emulation and emulation in general. I update my site from time to time with more neat stuff, so check back every once in awhile. I removed the emuxhaven links because I'm pretty sure at this point it's gone forever.

Notice: As of the edited date above, the web address has changed once again. My site is no longer on atspace, they seemed to have a problem with emulation sites. So, I have moved to a new host/domain.

So I've server bounced quite a few times, and I don't really use my website much anymore. But I do keep it up for the sake of nostalgia, so when my latest host decided to pull the plug I moved again. All links have been updated with the new URLs just for the sake of it.

Notice: As of the edited date above, the web address has changed yet again.

Bighead's EmuHelp
This is my site's frontpage, where I sometimes post news items as well as link to the sites contents. Although I try to offer general information on all emulation, the main focus is Nintendo64 emulation.

N64 Multiple Game Configuration List
The main attraction, this page is a huge list of N64 games with configurations of which plugin/emulator combo to use for the best experience possible, as well as any known issues with the configuration. It also offers various links to the emulators themselves, as well as any other links I found useful. Most of the games on the list were tested extensively, so try my settings and you most likely can't go wrong. There are still a few games without configurations, and some of the settings and plugins may be outdated. I have a lot of free time available lately, so I hope to update it very soon and keep it updated.

N64 Emulation Tutorial
This tutorial was designed with the intention that someone who knows nothing about computers or N64 emulation, can read it and get started playing N64 on their computer with no hassle. It goes into detail on what ROMs, emulators, and plugins are, and offers useful links to assist getting N64 up and running on your computer. It will show you exactly how to install plugins and all of their required files, set up controls using N-Rages Input plugin, using Controller Paks, and getting Mario to run around on your screen. It is a pretty long tutorial, but is also very informative.

N64 Graphics Plugins Settings
I had this planned for the plugins packs for years, but I never got around to finishing it until recently. This document is a brief explanation of every setting that you find when configuring graphics plugins in the emulator, and the effect it has when playing games.

GoodN64+GoodGUI ROM Checking Tutorial
This is my latest tutorial. I noticed there wasn't a tutorial on the web that was thorough enough to help the emulation noob set up GoodGUI and GoodN64, so I decided to make one. This tutorial will help in setting up GoodGUI to use GoodN64 as well as any of the other GoodTools, and use them to rename your ROMs to identify good dumps from bad dumps. It also goes into a bit of detail on other types of ROMs found such as hacks, translations, overdumps, etc...

Downloads Page
Here you will find a download link for an offline version of my N64 Config List, Iconoclast's great N64 document, an up-to-date N64 Plugins Pack, and even a link to some great icons by starvingartist found on deviantart that you can use for emulator shortcuts. I also have a couple other neat things such, as a batch script to recompress rar and zip into 7z, and a wiimote script to use with GlovePIE that supports the nunchuck and classic controller.

Well I think that's about everything. I hope you all enjoy the site and find it useful. It's come a long way since it was started, and I hope my emulation documents will help newcomers to the scene get games up and running on their computer.

Of course I can! I am slowly working on my list again for the first time again in 6 months, mainly because I am once again in love with emulation, and I have nothing else to do. It will be awhile before I update Resident Evil 2, because I am fixing each game again in alphabetical order. I am almost complete with page 1, than I finally get to fill in those blanks on 2, than the PD roms (which I never got around to doing). I cannot promise I will actually complete this entire thing this time, but I am here for awhile :eyemove:

Quadruple post, plz stop the spam. One post would've been enough.
(mods feel free to delete my posts as well :) )

You are mistaken. I was merely updating the 4 posts. It was not me who made a copy of my original post to 4 locations, so I update them all with new info. And besides, nobody lost an eye so were ok.

Well if it's okay with mods it's fine, however normally posting 4 exactly the same messages would be considered as spam. One post should be enough. :)

Emuxhaven is down, and they are my host. It has been having issues for a few weeks now, and if they don't get it fixed up, my site may be gone forever. The main page is down, my page is down, all the sites they host are down including the Glide64 site. I'm praying it comes back up soon or at least I hear something from someone.

Edit: This issue has long been resolved. View top post for latest version.

thank you Bighead! everytime i tried to blow a bubble in Majora's Mask i was experience horrible slowdowns! like, i'm talking from 59-61 fps to 20-30 fps type slowdowns. with your guide, the fps hardly drops at all! it's still not perfect, but i assume the rest is a hardware issue on my part (after all, i don't have the best graphics card or processor).
