GUIs started as an innovation from Xerox in the early 80s it wasnt a response to consumers demanding it.
It doesn't matter who invented the GUI. It was Steve Jobs who demanded that it be brought to the OS market, along with the mouse. He was also completely right. Infact, bringing GUI to the OS market was such a great idea that Bill Gates copied his idea. You can't argue against what I said. If it wasn't for Steve Jobs suggesting that a GUI be brought forth to the OS market then we would all still be using CLI-OS PERIOD.

Back then, consumers didn't know any better, they never seen a GUI before. They couldn't suggest it in the first place if they didn't know it existed. But if they did know about it, I can guarantee you they would demand it. With all the touch screens and poop that's coming out now, you for sure can't argue against this. If the consumers back in the 80's knew of the GUI Xerox was working on, they would demand it, which is why Steve Jobs brought it into the mainstream in the first place. He knew it was what the consumers really want, and he was completely right.

Which brings me to another point: as someone who doesn't pay for a product you don't have the right to make demands. Almost every developer welcomes suggestions from their users but theres a difference between opinions/suggestions and barking orders
If it wasn't for consumer feedback on software, we all would be using very poopy software. This is why there is open-source so the consumer can make the software better themselves. When people develop closed source software, there is no choice but to give suggestions. Telling someone to learn how to program and write a emulator themselves is not a solution. That's like saying, "You don't like how the country is being run? Then run for president or mayor." Its a completely unrealistic suggestion.

The fact that you dont even know the difference between HLE and LLE speaks volumes about your overall knowledge. You dont know the basics and think you can make demands of others? Good luck to both you and the randomizer with that:???:
I know the difference between HLE and LLE emulation, I just want to know if there's a noticeable difference between them when you emulate certain games. If you read my whole post you would of understood my question. HLE is a faster method but less accurate. LLE is more accurate but way slower. We already went over this earlier in the thread. What I'm asking is, what games actually require LLE or what games would have a noticeable benefit from LLE emulation over HLE emulation.

I made no demands about anything, I was just standing up for the_randomizer because he is right and you are wrong. So instead of bickering over how cool you are for using CLI-based software, you should get back onto the thread topic please.

CLI-based programs suck. And the so-called front-end programs for Mupen64 suck balls.

depends how you approach the situation

knowing more about the actual chip will mean more accurate recompilation ;p
Well, I'll wait and see. Right now I'm waiting for PJ64 with the alleged audio sync fixes (to help Hybrid Heaven mostly).

there is no reason why rogue squadron and co can't be RE'd for thier video drivers, in order for HLE to work. it just takes effort and time.

but given that emulation itself is now in a cesspool....
