I was wondering if anyone here was getting this game, I hardly hear anyone about it here. It was actually quite quiet about the first one as well afaik. Is there no interest in this title, or am I missing something?

Personally I'm not interested at all, I'm not that much of an FPS fan. Borderlands is a great new take on the genre though, but the game is lacking in some aspects. Given all the media hype, I wonder if it lives here as well.

I was soooo gonna buy it.
BUT, since there will be no dedicated servers, and single-player campaign is very quick, there's no reason anymore.

At least where i live, i can't hardly play L4D if the server isn't a dedicated one, but one of person in the lobby creating the game.

I for one am waiting for it XD, ain't much of a FPS player myself but the first one was good, i'm expecting a good game from this to, but it will probably wait for a price drop or an opportunity before getting it, seeing how short the first one was .

I didn't get it, but I did take my brother up to GameStop last night at midnight so he could pick up his Xbox360 copy. They usually close at 9 P.M., but stayed open later for the game's release. There was a bit of a line, but it moved pretty quickly, and they only had two registers going. Then again, everyone that was there at that time was only there for that game, so it was in, they had everything ready, checked, and you were out.

I'll probably hear from him how great it is, since he's the type to buy all of the hype ("best game ever" claims while it's not even out, and I'm laughing in my head), but I didn't even think much of the first Modern Warfare, so I obviously won't care for this. I liked the first Call of Duty, and have yet to try the second (want to since I heard it was okay), but the fourth, while it did look good, had nothing that shocked me like it did the console players. Then again, I've seen it all with Medal of Honor, and World War 2 theme stuff (I know, I hear the game apparently isn't around that anymore, but still) is just very hard to impress with anymore. They need to stop with those already. Those were old five years ago. It's just ridiculous now.

It's a shame the console players, and later, the media, seriously hyped the series up with the fourth one, acting like it was all this and all that, when we PC players yawn at it since we have seen it all before, but I guess you can't entirely blame them. Console FPS games aren't what they are on the PC, so it really was a gem to them on the consoles, but sadly, the reverse is becoming true and PC FPS games are becoming what they are like on the console (ala, getting consolitis basically). If I cared about this game, I'd be really ticked at all of the things they did to the PC version.

Eventually. If the price drops.

Infinity Ward betrayed its community by disallowing private servers. When the game doesn't sell on PC, be sure to note them blaming it on piracy.

(Do note, I bought CoD4 within a week of its release.)

They couldn't. It's an online game, can't really pirate those. We'll...you can...but you're not going to have much fun with that kind of game playing by yourself.

That said, Modern Warfare 2 is unfortunately the top selling game on Steam today.

Where I live, there are several CoD2, 4 and 5 cracked servers hosted by ISPs. Adding to those are the maniacs who setup servers on their own PCs with fast connections and leave them on 24/7. So no, PC pirates aren't missing out on any MP gaming as far as CoD goes (at least not here....)

Well i have it and im about 30 min into the single player and i dont like it as much as the first one. Seems a lot more far-fetched when it comes to war-realism. MW1 felt like you were an actual soldier. MW2, so far, feels like your a super-soldier. though i could be wrong. i still have swine flu so im not up to playing anymore, and i have a lot of catch up homework to do :p

The pirates always find a way. Plus there's cracked servers that will probably get more use on the PC than normal ones.

The local Gamestop is being swamped by gamers buying this game...Gee a (PC gamer) sucker lets the gaming industry stick it to him every minute!

How will PC gamers be taken next time?

I don't even think this was a intentional decision by Infinity Ward. I think it was just that they were lazy as **** and didn't want to make separate PC netcode
Well get used to it, dedicated servers will be a thing of the past, and $59.99 PC games are a coming...

Damn, I upgraded my PC to get treated like this?
