Ok guys I just got my hands on an old p3 900
every time I plug it in, it turns on and off rapidly, causing the cpu fan to run(sorta) and certain leds to flash on and off. but when I actually turn the pc on(with the button on front) the pc goes on to run fine. After unplugging the psu from the board and then plugging it into the wall, it doesnt turn on and off, so is it my Mobo. Btw I was gonna get this thing running for my gf as a school comp, so I really dont want to put much money in this. Thx

oh and how do you reset the bios password?

Not sure about the power issue but there are two ways to go about resetting the bios password. Either remove the cmos battery and reinsert it, or use the reset cmos jumper.

Edit: removing the battery or using the jumper to reset it will set all settings back to default. This means that the comp will most likely not power up on its own when you plug it in, which would fix your problem but I am still not sure what would be causing it in the first place.
