mfc42 error message

despite downloading a new mfc42.dll and putting it in the vgs folder, i'm still getting the mfc42 error message and can't start vgs.
any suggestions, please?

p3 500, 128mb, 13gb, w98se, tnt2 with detonator, gravis xterminator.

Did you try copying it to the Windows\System Directory? That might get it working but I'm not sure

Install MVC++ and MVB i'm sure all problem solve

MVC++ = Microsoft Visual C++
MVB = Microsoft Visual Basic

FireGL must be kidding

try getting the latest MFC42.DLL at http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,27291,.html
