During the MGS3 launch event in Berlin, Germany, Hideo Kojima confirmed that development of a new Metal Gear Solid for next-gen consoles would begin shortly,

This time the title will kick off a brand series and new storyline, with Solid Snake as the central character.

Hideo will be the executive producer of the game, and the producer will be Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi.

Although Kojima-san was giving away few extra details, he did let slip that the concept of Metal Gear Solid 4 will be "No place to hide". He also quipped that there would be "No place for Hideo". He plans to take a step back and assume the role of executive producer on MGS 4, meaning he won't be as hands-on with the sequel as he was with Metal Gear Solid 3.

Stepping in as producer on Metal Gear Solid 4 is Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi. "We'll be taking it [MGS 4] to the next-gen and we want to feature a fresh, intriguing storyline and gameplay plus captivating graphics and more features while remaining true to the core of the MGS series - remaining Solid. We hope you'll enjoy," Imaizumi-san told an excited press gathering at Konami's event.

Kojima has stated several times that he wanted to bring the series back to zero. Not quite being able to complete this goal with the hugely successful MGS3. This just might be the chance to clean the slate once and for all. Whether this means scrapping the current storyline (The Patriots) or perhaps finishing it, is anyone’s guess at this point.

No mention of what platform MGS4 would be on, or when it might released. (so far)

XenoSAGA, not XenoGEARS. Xenogears is actually the fifth episode of the Xenosaga, ep.1 and 2 have been released already on PS2.
I really curious how this gonna turn out. The Patroits in the current story are still very foggy, but we will see. MGS 3 uncovered a lot of stuff so let's hope so it will be the same with MGS4.
Well, thats nice to know, I hope they dont go ower the top with this one. Im actualy surprised because there were all these rumors that MGS3 was going to be the last metal gear in the series..
G
That is great news, I'm sad that kojimasan is leaving but very excited about another MGS
*sigh* I was just finished with MGS3 aswell. Hopefully Hideo wont let them feck it up too bad ;)

and how those two first episodes are (comparing to xenogears)??
Is it worth to buy them?
Xenosaga seems a bit boring and flat next to Xenosaga 5. But that may just be me.

Episode five was good. I liked the battle system, and characters were interesting. (Dialogue was somewhat stiff) storyline was good for the most part. Slightly disappointing near the end.

I have Episode one. (Haven’t finished it yet) don’t like the battle system yet. But perhaps with more time I’ll get used to it.

I’ve only tried a little bit of Episode two. So far it’s not too bad. But I don’t like the new art style. Refreshed battle system still isn’t the much fun for me. (Maybe I’m just old)

Although, what any of this has to do with metal gear solid 4 is beyond me. ;)
soo best thing would happen if they release a Xenogears remake  ;)
And I'm sure there WILL be (maybe no PS4 :D )
