Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater PC ....is that going to happen?

Hey all,
I finished MGS3 on PS2....O.M.G! It is definitely one of the finest games I have ever played...

Which is exactly why I need to find out and confirm this....is it coming to PC? I have tried researching but some say yes, others say no.

So, can someone put me at ease? Whether the answer is yes or no, I need to know. I don't care what the release date is, as long as I know if it's coming on PC.

Thanks for your help. ;)

Other than higher resolutions, FSAA/AF, game expansion(maybe like substance), faster loads, improved graphics... well I dont know then! :p

I would get the pc version :)
MGS3 on PC would require some company to release a PC pad with analogue buttons support, as D.D. pointed out, MGS3 needs it way too much to be ported like MGS2 Substance was; Substance could still be played without them, MGS3 can't.
Maybe they could do it by having a driver that allows it to masquerade as 3 pads in windows in order to get the analog support (Pad 1= thumsticks, d-pad, start/select. Pad 2= face buttons mapped to X/Y/Z/R. Pad 3= shoulder buttons mapped to X/Y/Z/R)
Optimizing the graphics engine of mgs3 would be another problem. MGS3's engine was optimized and developed specifically for the ps2 even more so than MGS2. I don't know if konami would want to put the time or money into redoing the engine just to port it to the pc.
the pc port of mgs2:substance already had framerate problems on the pc (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/metalgearsolid2substance/review.html)...in light of wut the captain said....
True, and pressure sensitivity. It was just so lame having to use 1400 extra buttons to get the "weak press" effect on the ps2 pad >_>
i have a question about this tho. do those ps2 -> usb converters support the analogue buttons thing? if yes, that cud be a solution.

So far, not a single one does.
None can, unless a suggestion such as my earlier one is adopted. From what I remember, DX itself doesn't support more than 4 analog axes (X,Y, Throttle (Z) and Rotation (ZR))
MGS3 for PC would be very nice! but they should port it better this time...

You wern't folowing the conversation were you?

I would definitely agree that the button sensitivity issue would need to be adressed, maybe it could mesure how fast you tap the buttons

They could easily implement that style to work on a PC... that's how they work pass and shot strength in PC versions of Madden and NBA Live. In Madden a quick tap will be a lob, a longer press will be a bullet pass... in NBA Live a quick tap tap will be a shot fake, a longer press will determine when you release the ball.

I tend to think that MGS3 WILL eventually be ported, just because of Konami's history of porting many of their games to PC (Silent Hill games, MGS games, Shadows of Destiny, etc.).
let's see......
for CQC: A press would be a regular CQC
A quick double tap would be a knife slash
for guns: pressing and holding would be holding the gun
A quick release would fire the gun
A double tap would put the gun down
and Player-X, how exactly do you think the game would distinguish the "quick release" from a "double tap"? a quick release is a "tap" right? and a double tap is just "tap tap"...so isnt that two gunshots?
i think his point was it wud be very difficult to do.
the gun would fire after about half a second after release if the fire button is not pressed again, Imagine how akward would that be (atr least it beats the press the shift for quick release of substance PC)
