Okay, when I save a game to either memory card file in ePSXe (1.4.0) in Final Fantasy 7, it comes up within the game as being saved.

However, sometimes, when starting ePSXe up the next day, it is as if I hadn't even played the previous time.

This is the second time this has happened, and it's really starting to irritate me, since I lose about four or five hours of playing every time.

It happens with both memory cards simultaniously (the first time it happened, I started saving the same file to both cards, so if ePSXe conveniently forgot to write one to disk, it might still write the other. I was wrong.), and appears to occur completely at random.

so, uh, any suggestions?

and if you use save states all of saved game is on the file called

temp.000 (memcard 1) and temp.001 (memcard 2)

both file can be found on epsxe memcard folder

Actually, 1.4 doesn't make the temp files. :eyes: .And the same prob occurs in FF9 :eyes: . I'm using the save state as my primary save and the regular save as my backup :eyes: .

well, um.

It seems that the F4 trick did fail. . . damn, now I have to beat Ultima Weapon again.

If it matters:
500MHz Pentium III, 128 MB RAM, Win2K Professional
32MB Geforce2 MX, using Pete's OpenGL Plugin
C-Media CM8738 (or somesuch), using the ePSXe SPU core plugin (v1.4.0)
Gravis Gamepad Pro (the one that looks like a replica of a PSX controller)

I'm using the American version of FF7, if that also matters.

well, there is always the old F5 then F4 trick.. Or F4 twice.. hehe.. Seriously though, F4 should fix most memcard issues.. I have also noticed that setting my controller to "analog" or "analog\digital" and not digital, I don't get those weird memcard issues where I have to press f4.. I am using an analog rumble pc controller..

Actually, which SPU do you use? 'Cause when I use Iori's, and the SPU IRQ is enabled in it (not in the sound menu), it should work like kairi00 said. F4 right before you save, then F4 right after (i.e., F4, save, F4, F4 save, F4, F4, save, F4, etc.).
