Yo all!

Here's my problem: MMX6 crashes upon loading!
Is this game incompatiable? or is there a known fix?

Thanks ;)

hehe i think it's brand new
i just got it, i can't wait to play it (and i don't feel like dragging out my psx)

i hope theres a fix or something :)

anyways more info here's the error i get:

"SPEC Opcode 15 UNK (PC 00000088) (00000080) (525,0)"
It shows a loading screen, then it blacks out and i think it's supposed to play a mdec, but doesn't (usual mmx game prob (any known fixes??) ) then shows another load screen, then crashes.

Any ideas?

Wow, I've never seen an error message like that before. And as you can see (if you've been following my other posts), I have the same problem with the FMVs that you have. So far my only advice would be to use VGS but that only runs on Windows 95/98. You might want to try FPSE or some of those other raggedy emulators if you can't get VGS to work.

not to stray off topic but isn't vgs a commercial emu?? and if i recall it was made by a company that no longer supports it? :(
Oh well i'll wait for one of the great ePSXe gurus to come and help us out :p

Yeah VGS is commercial but you can find it on any warez chatroom on UnderNET or DALnet. It's still the most "accurate" emulator out there and is the most compatible, the only problem is that it doesn't use graphical enhancements of any kind so 3D games look pretty bad. MegaMan looks fine though.

BTW, how are the voices in MMX6? I remember the ones in X4 were TERRIBLE but they were a lot better in X5. I think they had woman doing X's voice in 4, ridiculous :p

Well, VGS has been known to have VERY high compatibility, and that's a very high "very" at that. :p Try X6 with it...I hope it works there, since I'm planning to get the game.

Where is the ePSXe team? And what the hell are they doing? Can they release a new version regarding 8/X4/X5 MDECs and X6 difficulties as well? Soon, maybe today?

Just to quote from Slash Raptor's Megaman Outpost site:

Capcom kept the original JPop for the intro movie, and presumably for the ending sequence as well. They also translated the captions at the bottom of the movie into English. The Japanese narrator is not heard.

Even though there is only one real movie in the game, besides the Capcom logo animation, the rest of the story is told through well-drawn still or slightly-animated screens, like in X5. While there is text on the bottom that shows what the characters are saying in English, Capcom kept the original Japanese voices that accompanied the text in the Japanese version. So, now there's some emotion behind the words, even if you can't understand what they are saying. These sequences can also be skipped using the Start button.

YESS!!! THEY KEPT THE JAPANESE VOICES, THERE IS A GOD!!! Almost every good Japanese game company has the tendancy to make awesome games with no detail unattended...EXCEPT THE AMERICAN TRANSLATION! It's almost like after they finish the game, they send out a group of guys to a random, middle class, white American neighboorhood with a garage sale-style both marked "Voice Actors Wanted, No Experience or Emotional Depth Required." Glad to see Capcom is finally wising up, now if only Konami would take the hint...

And to add to the good news MMX6 works on VGS
Heck yeah! (Though i'd prefer ePSXe to VGS anyday ;) )

Uhh, DCcopy81, they kept the Japanese voices in X5 (only because the only voice acting was the "oohs" and "aahs" X and Zero make when they're jumping, shooting, swiping sabers, etc.) I think well enough that Capcom already made their move then...

But, here they are now with JPop...amazing how Japanese Gaming influence works on companies that are smart, unlike some other companies, if you know what I mean. :p

---

On another note, I've decided to send this bug report over to the ePSXe Beta Compatibility forums. It's only a matter of time before it appears...

You wouldn't by any chance know if the Japanese version of the game will have english translated menus, etc. (or maybe an option to change languages)? I found the ISO of Rockman X6 on some chatroom on DALnet and I'm downloading the last volume now. Just curious if this game will have any english in it.

The only English I'm expecting out of the Japanese version is the intro movie. Sorry, man.
