oki, im thinkin of getting Max Payne, but i have a Celeron466 RivaTNT 2 ultra (32MB) and 256Ram PC100...
is there anyway to make it run decently on my machine (prolly @ 320*200 and no textures ;) )

Uh, sometimes my computer starts to choke when a lot of action starts up. (I have some high details, but medium geometry and 16-bit textures...)

Celeron 700MHz
GeForce 2 MX (32MB)
192MB RAM
my computer is weird on max payne, I can run EVERYTHING a max detail at 1024x768 with 4x FSAA with about 60FPS but I get random crashes saying, detail is to higher, try and lower it to prevent this crash, or some weird stuff like that, quite annoying cuz I don't know WHAT detail to lower.
oh, and my system specs
Athlon Tbird 800
640 megs of PC-133 RAM
Geforce3 64meg 4xAGP
Hercules Gametheatre XP

and I run it in 32bit depth

oh shit :(
On my 500 MHz Celeron and Voodoo 2 (!) I could run it decently w/ all low settings except for character detail and texture detail set on medium, with no FSAA (obviously) and 640x480x16. It ran just fine like that, but when I got my GeForce 2 MX/400 64MB :D it ran a lot better. So it can be done but it won't be as pretty as it could be.
Yeah, but it's not Max Payne without all of the decals and particles that I love so much... :)

True... there's nothing like leaving a room where the walls are 50% covered with bullet holes :D Neojag, you can play MP on your PC, but if you wanna enjoy it to its fullest, get an upgrade first.
It should run fine on your computer Neojag
it seems that max payne requires more on processor power than gpu power. i recently upgraded my p3 550 mhz to p4 2 gig and wow i can run it at high detail on my tnt2 m64.
max payne needs gpu memory your p4 2Ghz must have DDRAM or RDRAM to store aditional textures that your TNT can't handle and still if you compare your framerate on TNT with a GF3 you can say that it also needs GPU processing power

neojag: i once heard that you need atleast 2300+ 3dmarks(2001) to play Max Payne properly (they are probably right since 3dmark uses Max Payne engine) try the demo if it work on you, then you can decide on getting the game. btw it really kick ass, John Woo style!!!
3DMark2K will run really slow during the "nature" scene and "lobby" on Neo's comp

Tnt2 ultra can run the "nature" scene? I tho only Gf3 can run it?
TNT2s can run the nature scene in the demo not the "nature" benchmark test.
i see.

Btw, congratulation for the release of your direct3d plugin :)
