I've tried everything, but battles won't go higher than 60 FPS (FPS limiter is set to off) I use this so I can level faster

Outside of the game with limiter off game flies, like 150+ FPS but as soon as battle start, no matter the settings and resolution FPS are stable at 60...

Using OGL2 plugin

e8400 @ 4GHz
8800 GTS 512 MB
4 Gig RAM

Is this some kind of engine limitation or?

Try forcing Vsync off on the nVIDIA panel.

Sadly it didn't work :/
Game flies really right up to the point where characters line up for battle, so battle swirl, zooming in is at 150+ FPS and as soon as I get control of characters it slows down to 60 FPS. Crazy... Drives me insane.

disable Global antialiasing.

Try forcing Vsync off on the nVIDIA panel.

I created a new profile for epsxe and this did the trick
