You didn't set the correct save type. You can find your answer on how to set the correct save type here. After setting the correct save type, save the setting and reload the game or restart the emu (close and run the emu again).

1) Set your NDS backup media to EEPROM 8k.
2) Press Numpad * to reset your game.
3) The game should play now.
This is pretty much THE 'wrong savetype' error, BTW.

Delete the ini file and try again. Also, which version of the emu are you using? If it's 2.6a, then leave it as auto; otherwise, you will have to manually set the correct save type following the steps above.

It's the latest version
I even tried to redownload it in case the file was damaged but still nothing
I will just assume you are talking about version 2.6, since that's the only latest legal download version that this forum supports.

Anyways, try renaming your game's name without any special characters.
