Never used Citra before in my life and i am nowhere even remotely near a PC expert, so all i've done so far is install Citra nightly (i saw a youtube vid where a guy was playing it perfectly on that) and downloaded a LM2 3ds rom and just tested the first few minutes to see if it worked and the graphics and sound ran butter smooth... only thing that's wrong is abit of stuttering here and there and now and then the frame rate drops to 13 - 14fps, but that's only cause i haven't changed a single setting because i don't know what to set them to.

If someone could please help me out then i think the easiest way would be to first list my system specs and then include this screenshot here. Given my specs, could one of you lovely wonderful nerds just reply back with a copy of the screenshot but this time with all the correct settings for maximum performance so that way i can just enter them on my PC too. Thanks.

Ok, so firstly my system specs...

Operating System : Windows 10 Home x64
SSD : Samsung 960 Evo M.2 250GB NVMe
Motherboard : Asrock B250M-pro4
CPU : i5-7500 @ 3.4GHz
GPU : Gigabyte GTX1060 G1 Gaming
RAM : 16GB (DDR4)
Power Supply : Thermaltake Toughpower GX1 600W 80+ Gold
Internal HD storage : 1.5TB
Capture Card : Elgato HD60 Pro

Ok, now the screenshot (given my specs can someone please just reply with a copy of this but with every setting set to what would run LM2 best on my PC, i'm PAL region btw)...

Citra is still very much a work in progress and certain emulated components are poorly optimized.

Also, be aware that some nightly emulator builds have optimizations disabled to improve stability as they are typically compiled to test newly implementation features on a daily basis, though I can't tell for sure if the Citra team (or whoever is compiling these builds) is actually disabling optimizations or not.

I don't know if you remember PCSX2 back in the day. It started out as a monstrously slow emulator but got faster in time. Part of this was because CPUs sped up. The other is from performance optimizations and better programming techniques as well as utilizing modern CPU extentions.

Your settings look good. (Not that Citra gives you that many to mess with though) It just needs more time for optimizations to be implemented. Alternatively, you can try one of the official releases as they should always be compiled with optimizations enabled. You mentioned needing a nightly build for Luigi's Mansion 2, so you can either wait for the next official build or use the current official build with a different game to test the emuator's speed.

Thanks for the reply. As i said i really know sweet f*ck all about this kinda stuff. I actually just based what i said on this youtube vid here...

but i get ya - it looks improved in some areas because it's been reduced in others. In other words very much like how PCSX2 was for awhile (which i very much remember) Oh well... i'll just do with what's the best release atm and keep an eye out for an official stable release (just been wanting to play this for so long and screw getting an entire 3DS for one game and then just have a little screen to play it on ) Praying Nintendo finally use their brains (which we all know 99% of the time they don't sadly) that this'll finally be released on the Switch.
