We all love to see how far gaming graphics have come, with all the supersampling, , tesselation and post processing our mighty videocards can muster, all to get that amazing image IQ at a sublime 1fps for that perfect screenshot. That way we can pretend our PC's are magic and run games at 60fps at bullshot quality and prove how macho we are at videogames.

But what about the other end of the spectrum? How about a throwback to the previous centruy, where we didn't necessarily have dedicated graphics, where having 4mb of videocard memory was the bees knees, where gaming on CRT's was the only viable option...

Ahhh yes, a time where the rapidly improving PC gaming market lead to so many great ideas with the most humble of processing power available. Good times they were and we all have so many great memories of those days....holy shit has time passed.

So lets celebrate with a Low Res Thread. The rules are pretty simple, choose a suitable resolution, around 1024x768 would be fine, but make sure to slam those graphics sliders aaaallllll the way to the left, or turn them off altogether if you can.

I want to see the lowest settings possible without going into .ini files for some tomfoolery. Gentlemen, let's make lemonade!

I originally planned to go further in BF4, but trying to shoot enemies from far away at such a low res was too much of an annoyance for the sake of taking novelty screens. Enemies fade into the aliased background.
Thankfully, a big daddy is hard to miss.

BF4 didn't look all that bad at low settings tho. The models remained pretty good looking.
Comparison between low settings and Ultra (at 1920x1080):

The 1024x768 screen benefits from being taken inside a small room.

This is kind of the opposite: minecraft made to look like it is 1999 or later, rather than 1989 or whatever. Sonic ether's unbelievable shaders plus LB photo realism.
