I made the mistake of unchecking the "enable sound" and "enable cdda sound" options under the sound configuration (because I was at the office ^_^) and then made a saved state. When I later enabled the same two options and reloaded my saved state, the sound does not return.

I've repeated this with a nother state that had sound and saved it without sound (seconds later) then tried to compare the hex of the two files for an obvious mismatch. And the saved state with no sound has about 2/3 the hex entries as the one with sound.

I fear I must just replay the last couple of hours, but thought I'd check to see if anyone might no how to fix this.

Thanks

you should only rely on save states for "emergency" stuff like you have to go for now, or something like that...they are pretty iffy in "safeness" overall. memory card saves are the best.

Perfect, problem fixed! I do try and make normal saves when I can, but leave it to me to do something stupid when I am relying on a sstate.

Thanks for the quick response.
