Your post makes absolutely no sense. "software that would control, 5 systems (pcs)" is not descriptive in the slightest.

Also, control the computers in what way?

ok let me explain, more lets say that is going to keep track of the 5 computers' actions and is also going to warn me if any of them goes down or gets an error, but none of them are going to be connected (what I mean is that if the one goes down the others one wont) and the software would run on a computer that I would call 'master'; is this better?

No, this is not better. I still can't understand what are you talking about.

Learn how to control your usage of run on sentences.

He means, the 5 slave PCs are not interconnected. They are independent of each other. Blind slaves, if you must. However, they interface to a single master machine for logging purposes, perhaps.

The question is then is it just for monitoring system security? IDS software like Tripwire would work.

But if it's general monitoring purposes... I'm not quite sure what you would need. There ARE however a truckload of Spying software (Realspy, etc.. etc...) that can help you track the system, logging processes, keystrokes, geenral system behavior and email it to a given system...

If it's still not enough... I dunno what can help you.

But I hope I clarified the question enough so that those in the know can help better.
