Hello :eek:

I've set up a linux system to nicely backup all data every day. That goes well. However, for some reason it doesn't do the weekly backups it's supposed to do.
Most likely I made an error in my crontab file, but I have no clue what (to my knowledge it looks ok)

Maybe someone can help here...
here's the details:

0 0 * * * /usr/bin/rsnapshot daily
0 2 * * 6 /usr/bin/rsnapshot weekly
0 4 1 * * /usr/bin/rsnapshot monthly

and in /etc/rsnapshot.conf:

#interval hourly 60
interval daily 14
interval weekly 4
interval monthly 12

(hourly is commented out because I don't want to do them..daily is fine).

Hmm... your crontab entry looks ok to me (at least to FreeBSD 5.4 standards - may not be the same as linux). I don't know anything about rsnapshot, though. That's where I'd put my focus.

I'd interpret your crontab to run every saturday at 2 AM.

Alternatively, you could replace that set with:
@daily   /usr/bin/rsnapshot daily
@weekly  /usr/bin/rsnapshot weekly
@monthly /usr/bin/rsnapshot monthly
...Then again, like I said, the problem is more likely with rsnapshot than with your crontab.
