im new to this forum but not emulation, ive got speed issues with 2 games lod and ff9 the 3d world map run fine 60fps, in town or dungeon etc the fps drops to30and may reach back to 50 or so its really annoying battles run great sound is fine mdecs are choppy,i have as equipment an amdk6-2663dnow cpu ,192mb system ram, a geforce 256 and a voodoo 2 here are my gpu setting

ive got it all turned down to boost speed but it still does this any help is great maybe geforce settings? oh i use 7502.bin, my drivers are current, the problem is still there with petes and internal cd plugins andy's iori's pete's spu all seem the same i prefer iori please any thing maybe a socket7 thing or something please help

I believe it may be your processor. Even with my POS (PII 350) LoD runs fine. The only slowdown happens is during the transition to battles. That's pretty much it.

As far as i know, socket 7 amds go as high as only k6-2 400. not much improvement in my opinion even if you oc it at 500mhz. better to buy a completely new mobo and cpu. the athlons are dirt cheap now that athlon xp is out. Mobos supporting amd sdram can be had for as low as US$80.

My personal recommandations though go along the lines of getting a ddr mobo and ram plus an athlon 1.4. Prices are dropping now so they are not as costly as they used to be just 2 weeks ago.

of course, I live in asia and so the price cuts or otherwise may not apply to you...

First I had speed problems with FF9 too.
Try to turn off any non needed graphic optimizer, check
frame skipping.
Reduce resolution and use a tv-out ;) so the graphics look smoother without any cpu-ressources needed
