Kingdom Hearts Progress Videos

For those interested, I've managed to get in game, and Kingdom Hearts looks pretty good. Here's some links to a couple of videos. Note: this game runs VERY slow, and only runs in interpreter stable, as Recompiler and VURecompiler can tend to cause it to crash randomly. I'll let the videos speak for themselves.;)

Edit: Here's one more vid of a cutscene with Donald and Goofy.http://prafull.psxfanatics.com/generalplot/emuvids/KingdomHeartsInterpreter3.avi
As a note, these videos are encoded in xvid, so you will need the codec to play them..
Here's a pic to entice you (please note the fps are very low)

Is that CVS? Or 0.8? mmmmm
In the CVS I get the game full playable (except videos) in recompiler ;)

In 0.9 hope it will be full playable
its cvs, but i think you mean you can play it in recompiler with the patch, if you load the game in interpreter, get to a save point then save it, you can then load the game in recompiler mode, the videos do seem to kill it.

then again using the patch skips half the game, as you dont get the world map until you start travelling to different worlds, which is a good hour or something into the game :p

Sorry refraction, but I can get ingame in recompiler mode. Without changing to Interpreter and then to recomplier. o_O
But I am using a memcard save.......that is my trick. :D
i meant if you have nothing, no memcard saves or anything, you can start new game in interpreter, then save at the first savepoint then restart with recompiler

Yep, otherwise the intro video will freeze on you if you're not in interpreter.;)
Edit: here's a look at what VURec does to the game, the fps are higher, but good luck playing it.:p

Sorry to double post, but I wanted to bump this thread to let people know that once I make it to Traverse Town and maybe even Wonderland, I will be adding more videos to this thread.:)

Okay, so it's not exactly Traverse Town or Wonderland, instead.......it's the ending!:p Yup, you heard right, with a save game transfer trick that Mike41 showed me, I copied my saved game from my real PS2's memory card and transferred it into the emulator's memory card. And with that, I was able to load the game at the point of the last boss. These pictures can be spoilers for people that haven't played the game. But it proves that this game is definitely stable enough to run entirely without crashing (which was a question I pondered). This game took me a straight 17 hours to finish, and I would not recommend anyone try this unless they had EXTREME patience. Playing the game at 0.8-1.5 fps, in Interpreter with gsdx9 set to software rendered mode (this makes it look MUCH nicer), can make it very hard to stick with it, but I did, and here are some screen shots to show some of the best points in the battle. I am currently right now capturing the ending movie as I write this, and the save I used SHOULD have the Secret ending unlocked. Once I get this video down to size, I will attempt to multiplex audio ripped from a real PS2 into the ending movie, so you get the full effect of watching it. I already have video of the boss battle, which I must also downsize (as it's current size is around 350 MB). Once the videos are finished, Refraction and myself will be seeding them on Bit Torrent files. Links will come later. Anyways, thanks again to Mike41 for showing me this AWESOME trick of transferring saves, as this would have taken forever to do if running the game in the emu from beginning to end.
P.S. More screen shots to come of the ending movie, as soon as it is finished. I will also be pasting a link to the savestate to the ending of the game saved just after finishing the boss.;)

I didn't knew this game worked on GSdx9 with Software mode, is a good info :D

But the videos work?? I mean "real" videos that are running on IPU. (sorry but I can't see the link to the videos and don't know how they are)

I am sure that if this game would work with D3D and VUrec the speed would be 40fps.
But yet.......doesn't work :hdbash:

NOTE: Has someone try this game with GSdx9 0.9?? Maybe it can work in D3D mode.......

Okay, here's the scoop: First off, I am using a copy of GSDX9 0.9 that I managed to compile. The intro video does play, I have watched that work, though it only runs in interpreter. Anyways, for some reason unknown to me, during the capturing of the ending video, the game froze at the point where it switches from 3D rendered video to IPU (MPEG2) video. The intro is in IPU (MPEG2) as well, and works, so I assumed the ending video would work too, but this wasn't the case. I'll see about uploading the ending portion I do have into my FTP and post a link here for it. AS for the final boss battle, I'll try to get that spread around as well. Here are some pictures that I managed to get of the ending sequence. Enjoy.:)

The game does work in D3D, but the textures on the environment surrounding Sora are misinterpreted and show up as a black area in front of and on both sides of Sora (it's a bug in GSDX9). This was all video captured/screen captured using the latest plugins/PCSX2 build. And a note: IPU (MPEG2 videos), including the one for the intro will not work if CPU mode is set to anything but Interpreter at this point.;)
Edit: Added a couple more shots of the ending sequence. I will make the ending movie as soon as we have it working.;)

Save state as promised.

OK, here is the link to the save state on the ftp. Please note that as of right now I am not able to get the ending IPU movie to play, so at the point where Sora is running to Kairi and it goes from rendered 3D to the IPU (MPEG 2) video is as far as any of the other testers have gotten so far. But it's nice to see first portion of the ending sequence run.;)
Link to Kingdom Hearts Savestate Just after beating Ansem.
Please also note this will only work for the SLUS (NTSC US/Canada) version of the game, unless the save state is renamed to the CRC of the disc you are using. To find out what CRC yours is, run the game with patches enabled (remove your actual patch from the patches directory before running game)and console enabled and the title bar will show the CRC as pictured:

Ummm, that's great and everything Benny, but I don't think you're allowed to post CVS progress. I asked for permission in the IRC channels (not to mention I'm testing CVS builds for Refraction and I'm in the IRC channles working with the team everyday) so this is why I was allowed to post this. Please don't assume that just because you see someone post CVS screen shots means that you are allowed to as well, because it doesn't quite work like that.;)

I also get that in CVS but that's a non cvs screeny..
sorry I double posted but it wouldnt let me edit the post
I don't know if that is within the rules or not, but when running it myself in 0.8.1, it works fine, CPU mode Interpreter, Gsdx9 (SSE2) 0.8, SPU2null, PADwinKeyb 0.9, Linuzappz ISO driver, Dev9null, USBnull, and FWnull. I have no idea why urs would just give that screen
