Kawaks v1.54 released

Here is a new Kawaks supporting the latest XOR and a couple of others that were released a little while ago. A few other things are cleaned up and fixed also.

  • New drivers:
    • Puzz Loop 2 (Japan 010205)
    • 19XX: War Against Destiny (Asia 951207)
    • Alien vs. Predator (Asia 940520)
    • King of Fighters 10th Anniversary (hack)
    • Matrimelee (decrypted C)
  • Fixed slowdowns in Rage of The Dragons (how to play drawing for example).
  • Stopped both KOF2002 plus sets from loading the encrypted M ROM from the parent.
  • Fixed bug in KOF2002 how to play sequence (Kyo ended up off the left of screen).
  • Renamed some decrypted M ROMs in various NeoGeo Games to match MAME 092.
  • Renamed CPS2 graphics and sound sample ROMs to reflect names given to them on real CPS-2 hardware (added a 'm' to the name).
  • Renamed the CPS-2 simm ROMs (from xxx-sim-xxx to xxx-simm.xxx).
  • Renamed Jockey GP ROMs to match MAME.
Get this latest version from downloads page.

Ahh c'mon its all jokes, i use to use Kawaks, but at that time it was impossible to play it on Kaillera so i switched to MAME and I newer looked back(maybe used Kawaks once since then), I dunno something about Kawaks just dosent sit well with me after using mame for so long..But hey, you want to use it thats great for u...

Oh and about the CPS3, i dont think anyone is willing to spent time on it, even the mame team, I mean all they did was put the games in theyr list and sort of promissed that they are going to work on it, while infact they are not even trying...

They are not trying because a lot of CPS3 games are still supported and are making loads of money. MAME is about preservation, not gaming.

Besides, the hardware you would need for those games is beyond belief.

Exactly the opposite here. The reason I dislike MAME is because it requires so much CPU power even for the simplest of games. Back some versions ago, I could enjoy some speed with reasonable framerates for, say, the average 68000 processor games (which is the base processor for most of the systems like CPS-2 or Neo-Geo MVS) on a Pentium III 800, but each version has been eating more and more CPUm thus rendering games to run slower and slower. Even now that I possess an Athlon 2000, it can't be helped much. I think its current code may be too much bloated with different systems and stuff, though I recognize I might as well be suffering from my own bad configurations.

I'd put Kawaks on the hall of fame of emulators; it's such a good one. And, by the way, the only thing I dislike in the whole arcade emulation scene is this constantly name-changing of sets. Now that's disturbing.
