Just bought a psp fat firmware version 1.5 with all the original components for 120$. The seller had over 2000 sales and had a feedback of 100% positive? Anyone here experienced with ebay? What are the chances of my order coming through perfectly? :X

You should probably get what you purchased, but there are instances where 100% feedback sellers scammed buyers, but that's rare.
I don't understand why people think Ebay is a deathtrap. Avoid any seller that is from certain continent (ESPECIALLY NIGERIA, but Hong Kong is usually fine), avoid bad feedback sellers (anything under 98%, if the seller has over 500,000 feedback, 98 is fine) use Paypal and you should be good to go.
Could anyone provide a noob friendly guide for upgrading from firmware 1.5 to a custom one? :D

I'm skeptical with all sellers, even official ones. The first psp I ordered a few years back was stolen during the shipping process :p. So i had to wait like an extra month for them to send me another one.

It goes without saying, that is uber lame.
I am a seller myself. Think I am shady? Do what you are supposed to do and check my feedback sonny.

I've been an ebay shopper for years and no one has ever scammed me yet. I bought a green Debug Xbox (painfully hard to comeby!) for around $267 USD! Works great, but the stupid Thompson DVD drive [email protected]#%ed up on me, so I have to replace it myself
Jesus Blue, what Woodwork did you just crawl from?

Lol I don't think that had anything to do with the seller :p.

***** happens :/
Yes it does, and often :p
I was scammed 2 times and Charline was scammed 1 time, I was also sold the "bootleg" Sega Dreamcast game I still have as well.
you notify ebay or Paypal?
Got Horned Owl of ebay other than that nothing (though a friend was scammed for the same game :p).
heh ive been scamend once and given copies twice, you try waiting for a game (diablo 2) to be posted in and find out that its a copy without a cd key, needless to say i was a little bit p*****. The other one was bg, but since its genrarly single player only i could live with that.
I just hope I get what I payed for X_X.
Its express so I should know by friday or next monday........
well in addition to phil's tips on how to find safe buyers, i also must add that "pictures" is a must for me.
I won't buy anything unless they post a pic of the item, AND the picture has to be of their item taken by them, not just some official picture of a psp for instance.

but i'm highly skeptical of buying off ebay. why? well haven't you heard people say "i'll just put it on ebay" whenever they're disatisfied with their product?
i've seen it done countless times with hardware that doesn't OC well, or has minor problems.

So i only would suggest buying off ebay for stuff you can't find easily in online/local stores.
I used it to buy old classic NES consoles. (i need to go back and buy some more, since i have a hobby of modding them)
I also used ebay to rebuy FFVII psx discs, since one of my discs was too scratched to work.

The psp 1.5 falls under hard to find.......
I once bought a memory card pro duo 8GB from ebay, the seller has 99.9%
(Power Seller), the price ~$30, was delivered after 15 days, fake 256MB
reporting it's 8GB in windows, MagicGate status "UNKOWN" although the
label says it is.. stopped working after I formatted it twice..

Tried to contact the seller, didn't respond, filed a dispute through PayPal
still he didn't respond, escalate it to a claim, paypal after 2 weeks sent
me an email, telling me to ship it back, with tracking number to the
address included within paypal's email..

Shipped it through USPS, registered mail $2 (with tracking number costs
additionally $14).. call me stupid but I am a man with principles, I didn't
want anyone to cheat me..

**I wish if I just bit the bullet and let go**

after 30 days, paypal sends me another email telling me the decided to
the seller favor with the excuse that shipping address not confirmed!!!!!
case closed and that's it..

even the mofo seller closed his ebay account.. you believe that!!

bottom line if it comes to paypal's claims/dispute, PayPal buyer protection
is just big fat "Jack Sh!t".. excuse my french.. there is only
real seller protection program.

so I lost ~$35 for the item + $16 to send it back + wasting my f#!4ing time
for 2 months = 9,999,999 HP damage + status effect "Berserk, Stunned, Hyper"

Rebel_X: funny story, but yeh **** happens.

I refuse to buy any computer hardware/accessories off ebay for reasons like that. All that stuff is usually cheap on sites like newegg anyways, ebay may save you a few bucks, but you're taking a risk.
Rebel, ALWAYS, TAKE, PHOTO's.

that way you can prove the recieved product differs from the advertised product.
^ Yeah that's what am gonna do if I buy electronics from ebay, but probably gonna
take cottonvibs advice..

on the other hand it suck when you buy something for $95 then after 1 month it's $40
I am talking about Squall's Ring -Griever- sterling silver.. but that was for limited time now it's back to $88 :/
