Is there any kind of joystick mapper around? what I mean by that is a program which would allow activate specific keyboard keys once we hit on specific buttons on the joystick...

if you're using ePSXe you dont really need a mapper, you can setup all the pad's button right inside the emu.

but if you're trying to set other keys, like save state etc, try Aldo's VGS joy
http://www.aldostools.com/dx7vgsjoy.html

it's free and it works. people used it for FPSE when the last one came out with no joystick plugin.

actually FPSE didn't have a joystick plugin only for a few days after release.
at least two joystick plugins have been released since. one is joy0demo, which emulates the standard PSX pad, and the other is for use with the Burutter PSX to USB pad adapter.

you should be able to use your joystick with one of those plugins. sorry for the confusion.

hi.

Joy0demo doesn't work fully for some games (eg Metal Gear Solid: no controls whatsoever).
VGSjoy works better for me! (even though still not perfect with FPSE)
