Hello community.

It's possible to use a PS3 pad via USB without using a software?, and if it is not possible, which is the best software for this purpose?.

Nefarius' ViGem DualShock 3 drivers are the modern, recommended option. I was about to recommend his FireShock driver, but apparently he deprecated it. His current release is known as DSHidMini and can be downloaded here:


I need to point out that I haven't tested this driver myself yet as I still have the old FireShock driver on my system. He does good work and it should function just fine.

My personal advice is to move on and use Dual Shock 4 with DS4win
Much simpler to setup both wired and wirelessly via bluetooth with full customization and profiles.
You can set it up to mimic xbox 360 pad giving you better compatibility with older games or even just map keyboard keys to the controller.
