I've been trying PCSX2 on my XP OS a while..

Is there a difference in speed between XP & Vista?

If so could you please explain me,

cuz i've been trying to get some games @ full speed..

My Computer information is Below

EDIT: o yeah, does it matter if its 32bit or 64bit?

The only benefit a quad would give is that you could run PCSX2 on cores that the OS isn't, giving perhaps a negligible benefit. However, the new quads[Q9550 and friends] can overclock just about as high as the new duos[E8400 and friends], so there's really no reason NOT to get one, except money perhaps.

Depending on the model or series of the quadcore and the in the hand of an experienced user it can be over well over 4GHz and even 5GHz. ;)

if you don't already have vista, its not worth installing it with Vista Final Retail (aka Windows 7) releasing at the end of the year.

Hell yeah. 5-10fps increase in Vista, especially in pcsx2. The dx10 of vista helps in getting much better gfx quality. I'd say Go for it ;) But like squall said u should go for windows 7 if u haven't bought vista yet.

I'm low on budget atm..
ill wait a month or 2 then ill go for the Q9950

Emus are always more CPU dependent. You could have over nine thousand GPUs in SLI and the slowest Pentium 1 and never get full speed in PCSX2. :p
