Is it possable to make a bootable pc game from a iso or a zip image with icon?

Or is they any software that can do this?...

I would like to pack the game into one image and make it bootable from it... It would have to have an icon to the image!

It would also have to read and right from the arcive to save you game or your configuration settiings

The game is silent hill 2 but is on 3 disc at 2.3gb!, I have a 16gb flash drive that i could use for a image type!

I can't really understand what you're getting at, but it seems you want to be able to start a game that is still in a ZIP or ISO archive? I don't think that is possible.

Please i was asking if they is any over type of software that could do similar way? or anuther type of image, It would be good though!

Unless it could be made portable somehow?
I can't understand what you want so I am going to say no it's not possible, you have to keep everything full size.
moving to the software disc., please try to post in the correct section next time.

No it's not possible.

What he wants is, to make the whole game a single exe, with a nice ICON.
When he clicks the exe, it would run the game, read the settings he want, run the game, and it would be able to save and load the game.
It would also need to run from a USB disk.

What you need is a video game. Put the disc inside, play the game and save to memcard.
The game has to be specifically made to run without being installed....you can't just turn any old game into a game that runs without being installed....so no you can't do what you want.
actually all of you are misleading the lad.... ALLL OF YOU!!! I understand completely what he is trying to say: He wants to "boot" a game created as an iso file without having to burn to disc....

The key word is "boot" and it is very much possible to boot iso's without burning to disc...

You need programs like Alcohol 120% that allows you to boot iso files in a kind of "virtual drive"

Yes, it IS possible to create virtual drives and boot iso files..

Some games, once the game is installed, can be patched with a hacked version of the main exe file to run without having to boot the game.....

I you want to make a single exe file, with IS possible: you need to use a program called Thinstall which will batch all the files and create a virtual registry so that you may be able to run this game on any computer which supports the game...

*snip* has a vast selection of hacked EXE files from various games that allow you to play the games once installed without having to boot the disc again...

Now there are flaws, the more complex the game, the more likely it is that this can fail and won't work... old games from the 90's tend to work find with this method.

It would help if you stated the game you are talking about...

mdkcheatz, he did mention the game...
Thanks all, I have used a NOcd patch for my game and yes it dose work with out a CD, Its making the files into one iso or zip arcive, So can have it on my flash drive to use on any pc

But i downt like haveing it in a file mess that takes ages to put on my flash drive!... Just one iso or zip arcive that will boot with the file inside of?
No.
It isnt possible, to run the game straight from a disk image on a usb, some installation will have to be done if you package it like this.

the only possibility i can see is to install the game on the usb, and then put the registery key on the usb itelf then copy it onto the other computer, well this idea sounds good in theory, i dont know if it actually works.
With thinstall you have to install the program then patch it right?, But they would be no reg for a game would they?, Anyway it can make a one arcive bootable!

Software is one thing a game in anuther!
No, you have to make a back up of the reg onto the usb from your computer, im not to sure what reg files that your game will need though so you may have to do some reacherch on that.

and then its just the simple task of adding it to the regestery of the computer you wish to use it on.

it is a bit of a farfetched idea, but it might work.

Everyone, if you dont know what you are talking about, just dont talk....

With Thinstall, it works like this: it captures the difference of the previous registry database with the database after you installed the game.... also, it captures all the new files that appeared in your computer. Thus getting a hold of all essential reg keys and application files needed to run the game. Then it makes it into a single EXE file....

So everyoen who keeps saying "no" just hold your tongue unless you know for sure :)

Paratech, thanks for pulling me up, i didnt see that, I should learn to take my own advice lol...

If the game doesnt require reg keys, then I highly recommend NOT using it as it CAN cause limitations, or simply not work.... Like I said, Thinstall works wonders for smaller programs.... in my experience using it, I have managed to portablize programs as big as Microsoft Office 2007 flawlessly, whereas programs like Adobe Premiere Pro did not work after Thinstalling....

I have not tried more recent games, but for older games Thinstall has worked either well or with minor limitations (as in the inability to save)...

well nice job :p

And glad at least my reference to GCW was valued :)
Bootable -= / = Autorun capable.

Bootable requires a boot sector and means it can act as a bootable media (for OS installation for example)
Autorun only requires an Autorun.inf file that is properly written.

I made one myself using a HTML file like... 10 years back.
