It looks really pixely, but I don't know if it's meant to look this way (it looks kinda cool) or if it's just my computer/settings screwing up the 2d backgrounds. It's a very different look from the PSX FF's clean backgrounds, but I can't really tell if it's due to artistic choice, a smaller budget or my emulator. I just want to experience the game like it's meant to look, so I have to know >_>.

I've posted this in one other thread here but I only got one response (it was one the eight page of the thread) that said it's supposed to look like this. But at GameFAQ's they tell me it's not. I just don't know who to trust anymore.

nah, thats pretty much the way it looks. you can make the characters look a bit better if you turn on AA. you could try Pete's OGL2 and some shaders if you really want to blur it out, or Peops Soft GPU for the "authentic" PSX look.

by the way, GameFAQs is full of dumbasses who dont know what they're talking about, not to mention that the average age of posters is probably about 15. gamefaqs forums are useful for asking for game specific help (like if you are lost in a game) but when it comes to emulation, you'll get better advice asking your grandmother.

Also, ppl on gamefaqs usually plays games on the real PSX. On the real PSX, the 2d backgrounds 'seems' better looking, mostly because TVs 'hides' the pixels.

I'm a member on Gamefaqs, and I can say this: about 95% of the users there don't even know that there's a PSX emulator!
