Did you try file restore and it didnt work?
Use "run/execute". Type this while CD inserted. This will restore working copies of the system files.

sfc /scannow

If you have more than one partition, you could move the content of the desktop, my documents and whatever else of importance you have on the windows partition to another one (you can export your webbrowser bookmarks if need be, among others), before attempting a clean reinstall on top of the original wndows partition.

umm...this is actually a no brainer lol. I'm assuming you have multiple partitions in your HD. Copy all your important data onto a separate partitions and reinstall Windows. Simple.

Or if your HD isn't partitioned, backup all the data onto a USB/DVDs or another PC and do a complete HD format. Next time, create at least 2 partitions so that your OS and data can be kept separately.
