Is there such a thing as service that allows you to feed it an image (or link to one) and will search the net for like images?

Maybe such an idea is too difficult/expensive/ridiculous, but there are many times wherein I have an image, but I don't know where it came from and thus want to know. At least a search engine that allows images as search terms can somewhat alleviate the problem. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

:)

well, i've actually done this before, i just go to google and type in the filename.

otherwise, i'm guessing it'd be hard to do, because you'd somehow have to scan your picture into a program and have it read your picture and apply those attributes to other pictures (like a fingerprint system, for example.)

Sorry... it's not the original filename anymore.

That's why I said it might be a ridiculous/expensive (computationally, I mean) idea. But it never hurts to ask. :)
