If its still available on the store.
The price is the lowest i found around here.
Its the 5 cd version.

My question is, how to do it?
I still have to register my cd-key at a steam acc?
Can i do it on my old acc, which already have HL1 key?
Do i have to install the game via cd´s, or can i dl the game via steam?

Any info, tips or anything else you might add are plain welcome.

You can download it via steam. (But why do that if you got the cds?), if you have the packadge that has the valve back catalog dont register in the same account as the one you have the HL1 key (or ull be wasting one HL1 key).

the retail version doesnt include the previous catalog, you can register both on the same account, and you better install it from the cds because it will take a friggin long time to decript and update.

well, if you are used to mess with steam it's all the same, just have fun

Takes a freaking long time to download. decript takes 5 minutes and u wont have to update since ur already downloading the updated version. But still its best to install from the cds

well, whats best, download 3 gigs or update 300 mb? :p, decript here took a friggin long time, guess my hd is showing it's age :p.

the thing is, once you install it try to leave it on your computer, I found the installation process so painful I'm avoiding it till I can. why not make these games dvd only already...

This is something I cannot do again....it took me forever to update HL1/2 with Steam, on my crappy 56k connection....I need to back it up so I don't have to go through such the massive headache again.

But it's an incredible game.....those who haven't played it will enjoy it for sure. ;)

Like, my C: is almost full, but D: has plenty of space.
No problem with that?

no, it goes where steam goes.

i WOULD recommend, however, making a new account instead of adding HL2 to your existing steam account. that way, you can play CS and you've got 2 accounts ;)
