do you need a mod chip to play it on your psx/ps2?
yes. the cd is still a normal cdr no matter what the color is. there is not psx boot sector pre-burned on a black cdr.
also, do you need to use a cdr plugin with psxe?
no. no psx emulator can really tell the difference between a genuine psx cd and a cdr, as Randy previously stated for bleem!. vgs tries but also fails on many occasions and can spit out genuine cds.
