1. install sp2
2. disable all activeX controls in explorer
3. change homepage
4. download spybot and run a scan.

*update*

Did a quick check and that's fecking coolwebsearch you've got there... and that thing is a real ***** to shift, basically 'cos it uses every trick in the book to stay installed. If spybot proves unsuccessful get cwshredder from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Ok, this is what i did: I first used cwshredder, then i used hijackthis, and finally i ran ad-aware. This last program always detects the trojan and erases it and it will appear again when you run it a second after you erase it. Using these 3 programs in this order makes erases it permanently for a strange reason (try doing another scan with ad-aware and you'll see).
But you will get it again and again, no matter what. So i just changed to Mozilla firefox and i've been happy since then

That depends on the variant (there's about 30+ different versions each more crafty than the last... that latest one is so mind twistedly evil that nothing short of a total reformat will shift it http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html#realyellowpage).

Again prevention is better than cure. All of them infect via flaws in microsft's java machine. So installing sp1a or higher and sun's own java system "should" prevent infection (as long as you never had it of course). Firefox is also a good idea ;)
