I have an almost top notch system: p3 600, gefore 3, 256mb ram, sound blaster live. i'm running windows 98. I'm trying to get ePSXe to work cause it looks more user friendly than others i've tried. (bleem which doesnt seem to want to be used and VGS which crashes to desktop in a 640x480 mode, i have to restart the computer and refresh the monitor driver to get the res back) I got all the things i need to get some roms working, I have pete's newest video plugin and sound plugin. I have all the BIOS. But the game i want to play doesnt seem to start (for now the game is front mission 3, i got hooked in front mission series after beating front mission(snes) with english patch). Run CDROM, RUN ISO, RUN bios closes the program.

(runing from CDROM)

* running ePsXe emulator version 1.4.0.
* memory headlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [bios\SCPH1001.bin].
* Init Core W9x cdrom ... [D] ok
* gettrackinfo error[129]
* Testing readmode (0/3)
* Doing init gpu...
* Gpu Open...
* Direct input init ok.
* init core spu ... ok
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* Closing core spu...
* Closing gpu ...
* Shutdown gpu ...

EPSX: Opcode [01-04034b50] in PC [bfc00000] NOT

(ISO (fmission.bin i have)

* running ePsXe emulator version 1.4.0.

(RUN BIOS)

* running ePsXe emulator version 1.4.0.

* Init Core W9x cdrom ... [E] ok
* First/Last track: 1 1
* Track 1: (DATA) - Start 0: (00,02,00) - Length 58:16

Tried all your ideas...

It didn't work, I deleted the files and regedit and unziped a new one. I tried other BIOS, same problem.
I also tried other emulators, like all of them, some of them doesn't load the game, the others crash when i try to run them (VGS just crashes my res and i have to restart and refresh my monitor drivers to get the res options back) Any ideas will be great.

Have you tried other games yet? It's possible that those two games are not working on any emulators yet.

[edit] Oh I just realized... you're trying to play Front Mission 3. It's supposed to work very well in VGS1.41, and highly unstable in ePSXe (just do a search on Front Mission 3, you'll find some threads on that)....

But seeing as how you couldn't even boot the BIOS, there may be some corruption in the BIOS you have.... try getting the BIOS somewhere else (not from the place you initially got it from)... and see how that goes.

Still not working

I haven't tried to play other psx games on my computer yet, i'm not really into console games, I'm more of a PC gamer. And This is like my first time with PSX emulator so i know next to nothing. I tried VGS, but it didnt work, the program crashes and leaves my resolutions at 640x480. I have to restart the computer and refresh my monitor driver to get the list of resolutions back. I've read all the front mission 3 related threads, but they don't seem to help.

Please keep giving me input :)
I really want to play Front mission 3 (infact, any game now :( in my computer)

Dude, you better get rid of that link... not supposed to post link that contain BIOS, as it is illegal to own it when you don't have a PSX. As for where else to find it.... use search engines.

And that's a thing that makes me sadder and sadder about PSX emulation. Why the heck have these fellas to post links to bios, pirated ISOs, warez, etc, etc. Don't they never learn? (or read the board rules and respect us a bit?)

I was wondering, isn't there a lot of newcomers these days? Sure it must be a way to make them read the rules before aplying. It would be better than banning them later wouldn't it? And would give us some peace...

I suggested something along those lines a long while ago, but the odds are if they won't take the effort to read them as it is, they'll just scroll past the rules at the beginning just like all the other sign up terms people ignore when getting some new service.

Way too much effort to do something like that. Besides, if it takes that much effort to code that in, it would also take too much effort to sign up (or encourages blind guessing), scaring new people away. Admins don't feel guilty about banning people. :evil:

Unfortunately, there is no "send auto pm message whenever a violation is posted or when they sign up" option (although the latter might be possible with some work). If people won't read the rules, they won't read them. It's that simple.

Actually, those were the sign up terms I was talking about (you know, the ones everyone selects they've read when, in fact, they've read little, if at all).
