i can't play ff8 or GT1 with epsx 4.0

it looks like they used some kind of different cd arrangement on those games:(
so what do i do?

raziel,
it doesn't load at all
neither does gt1
it shows that epsx black screen where it starts loading the game but then it just crashes saying "illegal error blah blah blah blah blha"
