i've read the faq for noobs for installing and running PCSX2 and give it a shot..

i have a game and all of the necessary emulators and plugins..

i tried to run it and it worked in a slow but manageable situation..

since that i'm using x2 core from AMD, the author of the faq said that "i have to use a dual core hotfix if im using a AMD Processor"

the author give the site.. but when i looked up in the site, i don't even have an idea on how to locate and install these dual core hotfix program..

i'm just giving it a shot and it worked so im quite interested in this one.. and i could manage to play the game even it's quite slowish..

maybe you guys here can help me about this "dual core hotfix".

tnx in advance!

cmiiw, amd dual core fix only fix cpu timing problem (ex: beowolf pc run too fast) but this problem already fixed in xp sp3 & vista sp1, so i think no way this fix make pcsx2 run faster (is cpu/gpu power botleneck)

btw delete your "download iso" post before gettin improper warning :D

BS post is BS.

Its not fixed on either Vista SP1 or XP SP3.

it is mostly fixed on Vista SP2, and no longer an issue on Windows 7.

the game that i was trying to play was "super robot taisen Z ntsc-j"... and the pcsx2 emulator that im using is 1.9.6 for windows binary which i got from the site's mentioned in the noob faq.. anyway's i'm glad that it's working and my cpu is compatible with sse2..

i just have no idea on how to use this "dual core hotfix".. i got it from the "link mentioned in the earlier post" installed it and it seems that there's nothing new when i run the game.. do i have to do some actions to use "dual core optimizer" before running the game?

and what's these speedhacks supposed to do? can it improve my processors performance if ever i get or install one of those things?

I think it is self-explanatory from the site :
Description:

The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core processor systems, by periodically adjusting the core time-stamp-counters, so that they are synchronized.
It WILL NOT magically boost your FPS in PCSX2 to full, as your cpu is simply too weak for it.

as for speedhack, here's a quote taken from Official English PCSX2 configuration guide
The new version of PCSX2 comes with a few hacks which you can use to speed up your games. Be aware that all these hacks lower compatibility, cause bugs, crashes and all kinds of unexpected behaviour so use them with caution. Also note that these affect certain games only, so you might not get any speed up depending on the game.
more of it on the link above.

go here download latest legacy PCSX2 (PCSX2 beta r2107) ,never try super robot taisen Z before if its 2d games it should be playable

note* updated OS latest service pack & update directx, so u dont need those dual core hotfix or sort (using dual os XP & vista never bother use that dualcore fix + tlb thingy :p )

guys thanks alot..

actually, i've just testing the game again to check for the fps framerate..
the lowest fps rate i've seen so far was 23 and the highest fps rate is 60+..

it seems that i can play in a reasonable speed with my current settings..
