1. Don't double post.
2. Don't post websites that offer illegal downloads.
3. Don't tell people about stuff you've downloaded illegally (we don't care if you do it, we just don't want to hear about it).
4. In case you missed it, a post said your game works with SSF.
5. SSE/SSE 2 are sets of special instructions that have to be supported by your CPU for SSF (and many other things) to work. If you'd like to know whether your CPU does support them, tell us what it is first. If it doesn't though, there absolutely nothing you can do aside from getting a new one.

Wow, 5 counts of n00bness within two posts. :ban: ...j/k.

Just open the default file with notepad and put the english word into the first line.

Any emulator choice that I can run and I can also play shining force 3 ?.

Is there a special reason why the Saturn emulator needs this SSE2? Considering the PSX emulaters doesn't.

I understand SSF is still in alpha, but does it seem likely the SSE2 requirement will be through on to the final versions?

And also, then is there any emulator, not needing SSE2, that can run Dragon Force? (The desperate question!)

Thanks.

SSE2 is needed because of speed issues. PSX is a much simpler piece of hardware so it doesn't need a modern computer with SSE2 in it. Every current gen computer has SSE2 by now so I see no reason why it should be removed in future versions. It would be like releasing games on floppies when CDroms are a standard.

ARG so my Athlon XP 3000+ wont work either BAH.

So really then what is everyone using???
I'm running:

1. Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
2. Athlon 64 X2 4800+

I believe there are older versions of SSF before they required a SSE2 capable processor. Not sure how the compatibility was though. If I remember correctly, no sound back then :(

Off topic: The Athlon system doesn't seem to be any faster than the P4 even with twice as much ram. So it seems that raw processor speed is better than having dual cores (4800+ being two 2400's).

Check the "use VDP1/2 Draw/CD Block thread" options. The checked part will then run in a different thread, so in theory SSF supports up to a quad cpu system.

You can also set the Slave CPU to 100% speed and the dot clock to higher for better compatibility, of course that will have a significant performance hit. Thats why a multicore CPU comes extremely handy.

No, unless you mean two 2400mhz cores in one cpu. The actual CPUs runs at 2,4ghz which would roughly equal a 3800+ rating for a single core Athlon 64.

Interesting. I'll have to test this out after work.
I remember someone mentioning to set Slave to 100% but didn't know that is was much of a performance hit. Maybe that's why certain games ran so slow on my P4 rig(NiGHTS, Die Hard Arcade, damn near every 3D fighter).

Thanks for the tips, Borisz.

EDIT:

OK I am now playing those games at full speed on my AMD system. Playing NiGHTS again also made me realize how great a game this is and how much I missed my Saturn.
