I'm using No$GBA2.6a to try to play Final Fantasy VI Advance and I keep getting a weird error (pic below).

I get this error at the same time during the first fight in the game.

I've tried changing many of the settings and such to no avail. The reason I am using No$GBA instead of VBA is because of speed.

Thanks!

No$gba actually has higher requirements than VBA. If it is choppy on VBA and not No$GBA, something is probably configured wrong. You might try the VBA forum about that, or post your system specs here for comparison.

I don't really know about that error, but you could try using another emu and transfering the save after that point, though I'm not sure how to do that for GBA saves.

Fixed, thank you. I should have explained it further. I use the No$gba because I can make it run slightly faster than normal by cutting some quality. I have the vba set up right and I know all the tricks to speed it up.. it just for some reason starts out good but gradually slows down slower than normal game speed.

Possibly your CPU overheating. If you run No$ on a laptop, there's not much you can do. On a desktop, you should clean the ventillation fan intake.

Well, I run No$ on a desktop. I would much rather use it instead of VBA do to it's ability to stay at a constantly good speed. (I like to play slightly faster than regular speed.)

Boycott allows me to do this as well, except there's a small problem with some of the graphics that I can't seem to work out.

Over-all I would be very grateful if anyone had a solution as to why No$ crashes. Please note that I have played other games including Final Fantasy with no such errors.

I just don't see what the error could be.

WTF? There isn't NO$GBA 2.6b/c! There is only NO$GBA 2.6 and NO$GBA 2.6a (which is ethically unavaible)!

2.6a, but it's ethically unavailable to the public, because the donations are down. :(
However, you can get 2.6 version for free in the official page of NO$GBA. ;)

why is it unethical? emulation is almost borderline illegal to begin with, and no$gba appears to be abandoned at this point. if the only "ethical" way to obtain no$gba 2.6a is to donate, when the guy disappeared off the face of the planet and had his paypal shut down for some reason almost two years ago, removing any legitimate means of obtaining the software whatsoever, then the "unethical" way isn't really all that unethical.

and yes, i did donate to get no$gba 2.6a, almost two years ago. in fact, i donated twice, since i never saved the link when martin released 2.6.

If you wanna complain about emulation, then do not even bother to reply any thread here.

If you did donate, then good for you.
'Unethical' means it should be a 'bonus' for those who donate, like you.
