Ok, one of my friends is getting a PC and he has got these three options:

1) Intel Pentium4 2.66GHz (533FSB) with a mercury lga775 mobo. (220$)

2) Intel Celeron D 2.26GHz with an Intel D845 mobo. (190$)

3) AMD Sempron 2200+ with an Asus (sis chipset) mobo. (185$)

The prices are inclusive of certain other peripherals he is buying.

He just wants to know which of these is the fastest. The obvious is the P4 but its a little out of his reach. But I wanna know if this P4 is really all that better than the Sempron 2200+ or 2400+ and again I am not so sure about the mobo he is getting with the P4. The board manufacturer is Kobian Mercury. I am not sure if you'll need more info, but which combo is the best to choose?

If he can't get the pentium 4, he HAS to go with the sempron, it'll beat the Celeron D anyday

EDIT: I believe Celeron D is a bad rip of the Pentium 4 Prescott core, which is quite crap. but still, go with the sempron
