Considering my playstation died a good 2 years ago when I found out there was a good free psx emu I couldn't wait to play my RPG collection again (many of which I went to great lengths to actually get from America ) Anyway...
Im having problems setting up the video plugin settings (considering I have absolutely no idea what half of the technical jargon in the video config means). Text and 2D sprites (Valkyrie Profile, Xenogears, FFtactics etc.) look really quite pixelated, almost to a SNES level oO . Can anyone tell me the best config for video settings for these games? Im using Pete's openGL plugin. (perhaps a different plugin would be better?)
Also is there any audio plugin that wont make the characters in Valkyrie Profile sound like lo-fi robots???
With sprites, you can either try setting texture filtering to 5 or 6, turning on screen smoothing, or setting hi-res textures to 1. As for sound, try using Eternal SPU plugin with the audio out method set to SPUasync. You may have to mess with the buffer size a bit; lower it if it lags behind the game, raise it if it pops or cracks.
