interesting how much is that processor by any chance. and what motherboard do you have. mines is Asrock and it supports amd phenom FX /phenom/athlon 64 FX/athlon 64 dou core/and basically phenom 2 X4,X3 processors. my boards pretty flexible.

does your board support untied overclocking its just a term for safer overclocking. Even tho are motherboards are different i can simply go into bio's and click on the cpu option tab and enable untied overclocking which is cpu,pcie,async. which means there in a fixed mode which means the frontside bus is untied during overclocking and it makes the overclock more stable and much more safer.

im sorry 940 was part of the name of the processor. its an socket AMD2+

my mobo pretty flexible maxes out at socket Am3 and DDR3 ram anything beyond that. I would have to upgrade to a more beastly board.
