You gotta find your way around the copyprotection. Patch the game with a PPF or enable subchannel reading if your drive supports it
PPF or subchannel reading? wtf are those? Please help :(
RTFM please :p
Especially your CDR plugin and the main emulator ones
Ok I enabled subchannel reading in ePSXe emu 1.6.0 and disc2 still didnt work.
As I said, your drive has to support this feature, if it doesn't, there are other ways, but the best one IMO is to DL a PPF patch for your version of the game (read UK patch for UK version, FR patch for French version, etc...).

Unfortunately you'll have to find the PPF yourself cause the only site I know is considered illegal on this forum. Google is your friend, don't worry it's easy to find ;)

EDIT: I'm going to bed, if it doesn't work, you'll have to wait a little more for help unless someone else comes
thanks, I am looking.

Found a patch, but it says it cant be applied because of the wrong offset??!!!

what is this! I found another but it cant be run in windows xp...SIGH!!! :hdbash:
ok wtf, it was ok to apply to to disc1 (i dont need that) but for disc2 it says invalid offset! :(
sounds like your 2nd disc is corrupt...
Does it run in a real PSX if you can check?
my PSX is broken so i cant check.

one question, should you be able to start to the game on any cd and not just 1? if else i guess it's corrupt.

i know with Driver 2 if you start the game with disk 2.... it loads the intro movie then says incorrect disk please insert disk 1

also you could try it in your ps2 if you have one....but u probably already thought of that if you had one, didnt you?
or you could try in a freinds psx/ps2 (duh)

and if the disk is all scratched up, get a GameDoctor. saved at least 5 of my games :thumb:
the screen just turn black when I try to start with disc2
Well thats bad. Shouldn't it at least give you the option to load your save? -.-''
I think so. Cananyone confirm this?
I guess if you can't run the disk 2, your iso is corrupted or something like that. Any disk you may run you should see an animation then it says Final Fantasy IX (ofcourse), then you have the option to start a new game or load a game. If it's not the right disk they will tell you witch to put in. So if you just see a black screen this means it just don't work at all. It's kind of strange cause if you played the 1st disk without problems you shouldn't have any with the 2nd. I guess the best thing to do would be to download it again or get it somewhere else cause, I have that game and didn't have any problems to switch to disk 2.
ok, your disc 2 is probably messed up then. are you playing off CD or ISO?

[rules]uh, no[/rules] :nono: downloading it is never the right solution, it might've caused this problem in the first place
tried another disc2...now I can boot the game with disc2, but it says NO FILE SAVE FOUND when I try to run from DISC2. Whats wrong now?
maybe it's a different region? Like the first disc is PAL and the second is NSTC or the other way around.
They're incompatible with eachother.
yeha it's another region it seems. the 2nd is NTSC. Can't you get the save files to work with them?
Well I managed once, but it was very, very complicated...
You could try some programs that do this stuff, but from my experience they all work with very few games and usually do not work at all.
