He Sues Lover After Sex Change Hitch

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - An Indian who became a man to marry a female relative was dumped after the surgery, a newspaper reported Monday.

Twenty-nine-year-old rubber tapper Kuttiyamma, born with both male and female genitals, had been in love with the relative, Laura, 25, for 15 years before having surgery to become a man and change her name to Binu, the Hindustan Times reported.

But Laura became engaged to another man and Binu is suing her for breach of trust after spending 50,000 rupees ($1,150) on the sex change in southern Kerala state.

"She had agreed to marry me after the surgery," the paper quoted Binu saying in the petition. "I took loans to pay the hospital bills."

Laura's fiance has since backed out of the wedding after hearing of Binu. The paper did not say how Laura and Kuttiyamma/Binu are related.

This world produces funny happenings :) Though, if that person felt attracted by women, a surgery was a good idea anyway IMO.
I am surprised it's so cheap... I'd have thought that something like sex change would be far more costly.

Indeed. That means that he is more man than female. There has been cases where person who looked like a female and all, but had both genitals and got his penis cut when child, and was later found that his brains were male...

Its not actually sex change. He had genitals of both sexes, so they just removed another one. Thats probaply cheaper than full transformation from man to woman and another-way-around.

Has no one noticed they were related? Gross!

Perhaps the degrees of seperation are less emphasized in India.

Here is DW's take:

Although we understand the apparent betrayal / heartbrokeness, you would think that Binu would have wanted to take this stance regardless of relationships.

The only thing we can fathom is that Binu may have had the luxary of appeasing both male and female partners (Hermaphrodite with both fully functional attributes), and could have chosen to sway either way depending on the sex of the final partner chosen. So since Laura was a woman, he swayed towards a man, but if he fell for a man the outcome could have been different?

he would've kept both sets j/k

IIRC in the presence of testerone the brain would default to a male mindset so unless he didn't produce any testerone he wouldn't be attraced to men (Correct me if I am wrong)

Intersexes are usually not bisexual... and instead of having 2, they have 1/2 and 1/2 (I think), so it's not a luxury!

So... let me get this straight. You do not have anything against sex change (or rather removal of genitals) but you do feel freaked out by incest?
why this thread reminds me 'Jerry Springer' show?
errr... just wanna ask... what is that condition called when a person has both men and women genitals? I heard it before but I forgot what it its...

If he would have just turned from female to man transexual, it would have been more gross. However, since he is hermaprodite, (MaZa learned a new word! YAY! ) matter is different. The other genital is just misformed extra, and most likely it isnt even functioning. :heh:

"Yuck factor" is the same for both things. I fail to see how if one doesn't bother why the other does.

Transexual was born with his gender already physically chosen, but s/he later decides to change it. (which is quite disturbing IMHO) Hermaprodite has no gender at all, or more accurately, has both of them. Would you like to live like that? Lets you say are mostly-female-hermaprodite. You would be mentally female also, so would you like to have big hairy balls hanging next to your vagina? :p

Oh, i do know you are a male dude, but that was just an example. Dont hit me plz. :smash:
