It will scan and print to the printer ok, with the one touch, but I can't get it to scan to Word, Paint, or any other application.

I tried downloading the XP drivers for the scanner, but either I'm getting the wrong drivers or I'm screwing something else up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why can't you? It won't let you? Or is it that there simply is no such option?
Is the scanner new or did it work ok before?

It's a used scanner, like I said, it's one touch will print after scanning, but it won't scan to word, or paint, or any application.

Ok, but won't it do that because there is no such option? Or is there an error when you select the option?

It doesn't list the scanning option as available in paint or word even though Windows sees the scanner and says it's working...

Does the scanner not have it's own software which allows to save the scan as for instance a word document? I personally have never used the scanner option from within another program and have always used the scanner's own software.
