It seems as tho EPSXE has yet to include the option to register these 8 way hat switches as key presses. Was just curious if anyone knew of a way to get them to work (currently useing a thrustmaster dual power gamepad). I would love to be able to set up the pad as digital, because when I set it up with keyboard presses thru the joypad I am unable to use diagonal presses with it =(.

Why are you setting up the buttons from the keyboard onto the thrustmaster buttons? I also have a thrustmaster dual power gamepad and I just configure epsxe to use my thrustmaster.. I can use both the d-pad and the analog with epsxe just fine.. You do know that the big black button on the middle of the pad is used to switch between the d-pad and the analog stick right?

Of course I do, but what about games where you want to use BOTH the D-Pad & the Analog stick...that's what I'm talking about. Just about every RPG I own for the PS I use the analog stick to run around & the d-pad for any & all menu selections. I also occasionally use the d-pad for minor adjustments in the way I want my character to move.

Hitting that button to swap between both is something extra to do everytime, I'm sure over time I'd get used to it...but at this moment there are plugins for PSemu that allow hat switch among all the other buttons too. When I use that I can use the buttons on my Dual Power just as if it were a Dual Shock controller.

Still asking the same thing, does anyone know of a way to get the hat switches to work -or- make the diagonal presses on the d-pad do both up & down for the time that I press it instead of a macro'd time?

Well, I don't use both the analog and digital at the same time in espxe to play rpgs, so.. I didn't really get what your were talking about.. I just use the analog stick for the entire game.. Maybe it's easier for you using the d-pad for intricate movements of your characters and scrolling through menu options... I do use the d-pad for cps2 fighting games and other 2d games, but that's about it..

Maybe the next version of epsxe will have this option.. It seems in the controller properties, you can move both the analog and digital at the same time.. Maybe software just has to be programmed for it..
