ok...Now who doesn't love a good harvest moon game...huh? i mean...u don't battle people...but somehow...it's like the best game ever... :eek:nthepull
I love the series but I have to say this, Save The Homeland is the crappiest Harvest Moon in the series. Sure it has pretty graphics, but they took out almost everything that makes the title great. Eg: Marriage, festivals, sheeps, tool upgrades(there is only one for the sickle), lumber and rocks, and the shipping bin. Not to mention they shortened the game time from three years(if i remember correctly) to one and let you plant only four crops that can be planted in any season. :p

I heard about it too, and I heard they aren't porting it to English due to the fact that underage marriage is illegal, how sad!

Yes, no marriage and festivals in Save The Homeland, exactly that! I don't know about the GC version though. :)

That's so unfortune indeed. Maybe next time they aren't porting to english due kissing is illegal. Just kidding :)

Well, I presume you mean Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town. It also ported on GBA. And yeah...this series is the best one :thumb:

Like shooting ppl and driving through streets at 150mph ain't illegal oO

The least they could do was give Harvest Moon a hypocritical Mature rating or something, but allowing games like GTA series and not allow a fantasy character marry in a child's game ... --> :hdbash:

I only played the Snes Harvest Moon, and I finished it as well. Very addicting and original game :) I'd love to play a newer version once with all the same aspects but perhaps more variety in the dating part.

This is so typically hypocritical. Why these guys must be so uptight about sex?

What's the problem with a young couple marrying in a rather innocent game? I've to agree with Cid's opinion.

BTW, this thread made me want to try the other Harvest Moon titles. Do you know what are the best ones (and in which plataform ;) )?

I don't know, that is what I read from a thread in the Gamefaqs.com forum. I think it has something to do with age rating of the game. Harvest Moon does look like a kiddy game...

Boltzmann: Try the ones PSX or the N64, they are basically the same, i heard but you get extra stuff in the N64 version. The GBA ones are quite good too.

The most recently released Harvest Moon IS Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. It came out in English over a year ago. It's not to be confused with the new HM game, Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life which is already out in Japan and coming to the US for the Cube in July.

Boltz, you might want to check www.hmfarm.com which is a very nice looking HM fansite, which covers alot of different HM games, and has a lot of information and especially background information. I hope it can be of any help :)

The first one for SNES got me hooked also. I've played every version except for the PS2 and GC ones. I'm thinking about getting a Cube just to play it and a few other select games (Zelda and Tales to be exact). I don't really have a favorite one 'cause they're all pretty much the same thing. Just a few small changes and the item upgrades. The only problem I ever had was deciding on who to marry, the library girl or the bar girl.

After reading this thread it gave me the urge to play again. If life was only that simple right. the GC version is the one that you'd eventually die in right? Nice site Cid, I wish it gave more details on the games instead of the one paragraph. I'll check their forums later.

Harvest Moon is one of those games that I love, but unfortunately will likely never get past the SNES version. I love the original too much, and just know that I'll be disappointed by anything else. Look at my avatar. Moo-cow!
