I think that someone should make a sticky post for
all the common questions and answers that appear on this board. You could Title it something like, "Common Q&A" then post all the fixes for various games, and fixes for epsxe errors there.
I'm just seeing the same questions asked quite frequently. (chrono cross, ff9, thunk errors, etc...) So what does everybody think? Is this a good idea or not?

Of course, you're making the grand assumption that these people will actually read the faq. As far as I can tell, an average of one person a month reads the faq. Hmm ... I wonder if more people read the board rules than the faq ...

Plus we got the growing ePSXe Fanatics compatibility list which we can start pointing people to. And if there becomes a new question that every one asks, then just make a new comp-report explaining the answer. Then you can just say look in the compatibilty list which has a sticky thread with a link to it.

Besides the same people who post repeat questions usually don't bother to read FAQs and readme documents nor do they try to search for their answer in sticky threads or with the search function. All you can really do is just tell them the answer or tell where to find it.

Postmark: This here post commemorates the birth of Adair's 1100th post. May it ever be remembered and celebrated throughout the land. :D :eyes:

And here I thought you would squeal from being shocked! ;)

Well the only thing I can suggest is the FAQ have a little tag in the forum with a sign PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING on it (Frequently Asked Questions about ePSXe).

I know in one place we litterally posted a persistant message so that people would refrain from making ROM requests. It hasn't happened in months now thank goodness.

Then they could make it like porn sites, (not like I would know :heh: ) have it pop up in 600,000 different windows so it freezes your computer! And while you computer is frozen you are forced to read it unless you rip out the power supply (erm, if they can freeze your computer to make it do that.) Or they could have you have to install a peice of software when you register to veiw the forums that is actuall a virus that pops up with the rules window every time you goto www.emuforums.com. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dead: :dead: :dead:

Woah, this is getting out of hand :)
Well, all i know is, something oughtta be done
about this. I dunno what, but something anyway...
....BZZZT! SNAP! CRACKLE!........
See, with the electrocution idea, you eventually get a pavlov like response. Didn't read the FAQ?
BZZZZZTTT! (next time they'll think twice.)

Really though, I'll be happy with either making a sticky post, or sending people to wormie's site, both sound good to me.........
