I'm really stumped on this one maybe you guys can help.

I have Gravis PC Gamepad and I'm trying to play X-Wing Alliance with the controller.

When I run the game the ship would lose control and ends up spinning in circles. The gamepad doesn't respond.

I already recalibrate the gamepad in Game Controllers in Windows XP and the buttons work out okay.

I tried running the game in Windows 98, whille the ship has a habit of steering to the left, it is control able.

I tried another PC and the game runs okay.

The only factor that I can think of that can cause this issue is direct X.

The other PC and Windows 98 has DirectX 9.0b while Windows XP has DirectX 9.0b.

Could DirectX be causing the issue or could it be something else?

Look for a new driver maybe? I doubt its DirectX, since all the times I've had problems with gamepad's it was the gamepad that caused it. Also if your gamepad has the ability to switch between analog and digital, try that. My Interact gamepad acts funny in everything if the mode isnt digital.
