since the first thread was closed (?)

nullPVR has an option that lets you choose how paletted textures are going to be handled (static, versioned, dynamic point and dynamic full). Try switching between them on all Z-Buffering modes. A specific combination might fix the issue, or might not... who knows.
just to say that I tried all possible combinations of palette+ZBuffer modes but the bug still persists

also like I said in the 1st topic the glitch does not occur with chankast (chankast has other graphical bugs which are as just as bad, so that ain't an alternative either)
but strangely enough it does occur with nullDC even if I select the chankast plugin instead

Pulverizor, have you tried previous versions of the emulator? Perhaps you may have better luck with BETA 1.6.
LOL yeah tried 1.6 (and older). forget it. same bug, plus others (like no "depth", a bug similar to chankast : background stuff suddenly pops up as it's approached)
no surprise btw, since this version is older and it's beta too (I'm surprised it's still available for download btw)

anyway since it's nulldc-related (and not windows) I suppose nothing can be done about it atm, but at least I'm just letting it known that the emulator (up to latest version ie. 1.0.3) is not compatible with Ecco so that game can be taken off the compatibility list :( (at least ftm)

Ecco is very playable for me and i rarely see any graphic errors in any of the games I play. Are you saying we should edit the compatibility list because you are having problems with the emulator. Im glad the older version is still available to dl, its a great option for lower spec pcs.

if u say it's compatible then why the graphics bugs ?

I posted screencaps in the first topic but in case they're can no longer be viewed ima repost them :

I tried all possible settings btw :( s obviously it isnt fully compatible
basicly there are "squares" where th water is discolored but only when another object touches the water

chankast doesn't have that bug (though it has others even worse) so it is nullDC-related
and nullDC causes the same bug even if I switch to chankast video plugin ! (same plugin version as the one in the chankast emulator)

btw I'm assuming it ain't a supernatural thing :| there must be a rational explanation for this

those video artefacts look horrible :/
sure they don't make the game "unplayable" but IMO they take away the whole point of playing

video game is mostly a video experience, the main sense we use is sense of sight with the bulk of the information being transmitted to the player via a visual type of output, namely the monitor
for me anyway :D

btw do u have the same bug on your setup ??

Yes I have the same graphic corruption while swimming on the surface of the water and around the edges of the rocks, I would call that minor and doesnt ruin the gameplay for me. If it bothers you that much then wait the next version of nulldc, try a different emulator or play on a real DC.
